Reporter
Your fleet’s data, reported once and trusted everywhere
On board
01.
Digital forms built around your fleet
Reporter gives ship staff digital forms built around the way your fleet already reports: daily and noon, arrival and departure, cargo, events, bunkering, ROB, Statement of Facts, next voyage, plus any company-specific reports you need.
02.
Checks while the crew fills them in
Checks run while the crew fills them in, so if a consumption figure that doesn’t add up gets questioned on board, there’s still time for someone to fix it.
03.
Built for patchy satellite links
Reporter was designed for patchy satellite links and keeps working when the connection drops, then syncs as soon as it’s back.
Ashore
04.
One validated data set, everywhere
Once a report is in, it’s available across OrbitMI for operations, vessel performance, compliance and voyage analysis, and our APIs pass the same validated data on to your VMS, performance tools and emissions verifiers.
05.
Less email, less spreadsheet cleaning
Shore teams trade fewer emails with the ship and spend far less time cleaning spreadsheets.
06.
One record as the starting point
Charterparty claims, performance reviews and regulatory submissions all start from one record.
Performance tools
Technology you can rely on
Easy to use: Reporter is a lightweight reporting application combining OVD-standard data schemas, configurable forms and validation at the point of entry.
Multiple validations: Server-side checks help identify inconsistencies, while standardized fuel definitions link bunkering, remaining-on-board quantities and consumption records.
Connected data: API integrations connect validated data to your VMS, performance tools and emissions verifiers.
Data Analyst
Human in the loop
Even with the best verification procedures, data will sometimes be missing or incorrect. Our data analysts check for missing data or pending validations and follow up with the crew for guided corrections.
The Same Data, From Ship to Shore
The figure your crew submits at noon is the same one as your commercial desk, performance analysts and compliance lead are looking at that afternoon.
FAQ
What is a noon report?
A noon report is the daily report a ship sends ashore, usually at local noon, recording position, distance sailed, speed, fuel consumption, fuel remaining on board (ROB), weather and ETA. Shore teams use it for operations, performance monitoring, charter party claims and emissions reporting, which is why an error in it travels so far. Reporter checks the figures while the crew fills them in.
Can Reporter work offline, with no internet on the bridge?
Yes. Reporter was designed for patchy satellite links: it keeps working when the connection drops and syncs as soon as it’s back, so reports can still be filed with no internet on the bridge.
What reports can the fleet file?
Daily and noon, arrival and departure, cargo, events, bunkering, ROB, Statement of Facts and next-voyage reports, plus any company-specific reports you need. Forms are configurable, built on OVD-standard data schemas, and you can add your own fields and branding.
Does it need hardware or installation?
No. Reporter is lightweight and browser-based, and runs on whatever device is already on the bridge – no hardware, no install.
